Getting it out of my system, a VERY long introduction/outpouring..
by adimmedlight inwarning, novel ahead:.
after a few months of lurking on this site, i've decided to take the plunge...i don't really care so much about introducing myself, but somehow there is some relief in the thought of getting my little story out there, just getting it out of my system.
i am the oldest of 5 kids.

Dear Dimmed....
So sorry for you, but happy you are now able to express yourself without fear... That's the way it should be, isn't it? People should be able to ask questions, get answers, make decisions... without guilt. After growing up as a witness (I too was the oldest of five, and was told "we are no longer celebrating birthdays or Christmas at five", dang!) and now at a very old age, I look back at the methods used to keep people believing, going, holding on....
I describe it as a hamster wheel.... While you are on it, or "in", there is always something to DO, and no time for YOU.... no time to just "think", "breathe", relax or enjoy... Always going somewhere, never getting anywhere, right?
You always feel guilty that you are not doing something else. Try to let yourself enjoy the moment... Make memories, and congratulate yourself when you do... You are only 23! Awesome! I was in my 50's!
Build up your self esteem, meet new people, build new relationships, go places, experience "life".... and smile... oh yes, and dance.... definitely dance... ;-)
Let us know how it goes! I also, am grateful for the people here, and other places who have given their time and energies to help us through these hard times, trying to find ourselves... But enjoy it, it is an adventure!

WT October 15, 2015 - Don't believe Apostate Lies
by Designer Stubble inthe last article in this new wt, shows me that the organization is dealing with much information that is damaging them.
i am sure that the many recent lawsuits are being noticed by the r&f.. here are some gems from that article, titled the naive person believes every word.
we must be very selective about what we consider worthy of our attention.

Dear Searcher.... You will NOT "know" until you "do"...... and only if you are able to talk yourself out of it.... "ooops, a mistake"..... Then, you will be watched, and every comment scrutinized... Even when I was "in".... you could be DF'd if the 'body' so desired... -

Help finding video
by Pubsinger insorry everyone i keep asking for help.. there was a short video someone put up, it had letts saying 'we reject the claims of apostates that we cover up child abuse' and then it cuts to court footage of elders saying they were aware under oath, then cuts back to the same clip of letts saying the same thing.
then more courtroom footage and back to letts saying it again.
it was a great clip.

Getting married when you are spiritually out
by 1tMakesNoSence ini met this amazing girl about 6years ago at my local congregation.
i was 100% in back then.
about 3years ago i woke up spiritually and kept it undercover till a few months ago.. this girl is still very in (but she doesnt really do the things a reaaal jw should do.

OK, 1TmakesnoSence..... Were you raised in this? Even tho you have mentally gotten out, that doesn't mean she will ever be out in the same way that you are. Please, please, please do not do this to yourself.
I have seen so many people 'leave' the witnesses, be DF'd, not want to be one, didn't 'really' believe it... but still? something in the back of their head kept saying "maybe the new order will come".... One guy was going to marry a 'worldly girl' (he had been out, DF'd for years) but couldn't... he worried, "could I really give her the life she needs?" He still thinks about going back BECAUSE he wants to visit his brother.... He just stinkin' wants to play golf with his elder brother... so he thinks, "Maybe I should get reinstated so I can play golf with my long lost brother." Shunning, family, losing life is very difficult for anyone to endure.
Your girlfriend is still pretty young... she is still probably pretty close to her mom, right? What about her dad? sisters? brother? Family, shunning and ALL THAT ROT/ BLACKMAIL can change people.....it's hard.
Give both of YOU a break... Who wants to fight for half of your married life of "what you will and won't do"? Marriage is hard enough when your both on the same page, right? Surprisingly, you may just find another person you love as much, if not MORE.... That has happened to people over and over also....
Be fair to yourself, and her..... Maybe you could "call if off" for a year? then see where she stands... Let her decide without pressure... When anyone gets off the "hamster wheel" (no matter what it is) you can get a view of life from a different perspective.
Take care, take time.... be fair to the both of you.

Compensation after 30 years
by umbertoecho ini have waited for so long to see some sort of justice given to my daughters.
it is far too late for me.
i have the same story as so many do on this site, so i won't bore you.
-
cha ching
Dear Umbertoecho, thank you for sharing, what a difficult and brave thing you have done for a good cause... not only for yourself (you deserve justice) but also for your daughters. When people think they can get away with things, that dirty little secrets will be buried in dark corners of Kingdom Halls for "the sake of Jehovah's name" to "not bring reproach on the organization"....... that is when things get worse. It is not a "glory" for ANYone... God included.... that such terrible things happen. I hate it that JW's think that they are doing some wonderful deed by protecting evil. They SAY they are "Christian", but let us see them ACT as Jesus would... protecting the children. I am so glad you survived, went against the 'norm' the 'odds' went to court, and that the "worldly" judges, investigators and lawyers gave you support. You and your girls deserved it!
